About The Position

The Food Service Worker I performs food service functions that are not cooking related, including washing dishes, cold preparation, salad production, serving, cashiering, tray passing, loading carts, general cleaning, and receiving. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, on the evening shift from 1300 to 1930 at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Requirements

• Ability to work in direct contact with a variety of foods.
• Ability to meet schedule requirements, including attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a service-related environment or industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes.
• Perform cold preparation and salad production.
• Serve food and operate as a cashier.
• Pass trays and load carts.
• Perform general cleaning and receiving.
• Maintain relationships with patients and customers to support satisfaction with food.
• Communicate courteously, considerately, and cooperatively with patients, guests, team members, and hospital personnel.
