About The Position

The Team Lead assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the assigned kitchen. This role involves completing daily production records, weekly ordering, and maintaining kitchen cleaning schedules. The Team Lead ensures customers receive high-quality breakfasts and lunches prepared and served efficiently, cleanly, cooperatively, and in a friendly atmosphere, while adhering to food safety, sanitation, and food preparation standards. The position requires following and enforcing policies and procedures from the food service department, school district, state, and county Health Departments, and the USDA Child Nutrition Program. The Lead must meet serving expectations and have a good understanding of Offer vs Serve.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and other advanced training or equivalent experience in food service supervision or related areas.
  • School food service experience in a high volume institution or cafeteria operation where a progressively responsible position was held.
  • ServSafe Certification
  • 10 hours annually of Professional Development
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete all assigned tasks in each category of essential duties.
  • Highly dependable in attendance and self-motivation.
  • Ability to manage 4 positions, with dependability and attendance being of high importance.
  • Ability to reach with arms and hands, stand, walk, and sit.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate.

  • $1/hr 1st year, $2 after plus .25 for ServSafe certification

Responsibilities

  • Follows and enforces food service department, school district, state, and county Health Department and USDA Child Nutrition Program policies, procedures, and methods.
  • Meets the serving expectations of the Department and USDA Child Nutrition Programs.
  • Has a good understanding of Offer vs Serve.
  • Supervises one permanent employee or substitute employee assigned to school to cover absences.
