About The Position

Alpha Public Schools is a network of four public charter schools educating approximately 1,900 scholars in east San Jose. Guided by the belief that our students belong in college, we ensure safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments to help our students thrive. Alpha was founded by a group of mothers on the eastside of San Jose who sought better educational opportunities for their students. We maintain a strong connection to our community and engage families in a collaborative approach to offer a holistic education to our students. A successful Food Services Support Team Member will help ensure that our students have access to nutritious meals so they can thrive. You will ensure that our students have a clean and orderly place to eat, and will be responsible for preparation and distribution of student meals. Successful candidates will demonstrate a growth mindset, a commitment to exceptional service, and strong alignment with our mission. Requirements

• Current Food Handler’s Permit Required (Alpha will cover costs if needed)

Responsibilities

• Student Lunch set up/take down, including removing food from warmers and refrigerators, proper placement of food items on serving table, and taking food temperatures
• Mealtime processing: making sure students punch in their correct pin codes and that all students who take a lunch are accounted for
• Ensuring students take a compliant lunch: including one entrée, one fruit or vegetable, and one beverage
• Notifying other staff when issues arrive (student behavior issues, missing pin codes, students not cleaning tables properly, etc.)
• Collecting trash from student tables, and ensuring trash is placed in dumpsters
• Cleaning cafeteria daily at the end of the shift: sweeping/dusting floors, ensuring tables are clean, trash is out, and everything is put away
