About The Position

The Food Service Manager will be responsible for all tasks and responsibilities relating to the ordering, pricing, labeling, preparation, rotation, presentation and serving of hot and cold food products while following all applicable Brand standards. The Food Service Manager will work as a team with Store Management and communicate any Policy violations requiring investigation and resolution. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service and exceeding Company Goals and Expectations of Total Quality Service to our Guests.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work various shifts including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Must be available to work during peak customer hours.
  • Must possess and provide a current valid driver’s license.
  • Must provide proof of insurance on a vehicle to be used for company purposes.
  • Must sign a “Statement of Understanding” regarding driving requirements.
  • Must secure a food handlers card where applicable by the State.
  • Must be able to complete paperwork accurately, neatly, and timely.
  • Must have full knowledge and be accurate and punctual with daily paperwork and bank deposits.
  • Must be able to perform cost food inventories and ordering product.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in food service management.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and ordering procedures.
  • Familiarity with health department regulations.
  • Experience in loss prevention techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Ordering, pricing, labeling, preparation, rotation, presentation, and serving of hot and cold food products according to Brand standards.
  • Providing excellent customer service and exceeding Company Goals and Expectations of Total Quality Service.
  • Working as a team with Store Management and communicating policy violations.
  • Being available to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, especially during peak customer hours to increase food sales.
  • Consistently maintaining and providing a current valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for company business.
  • Actively practicing and enforcing all safety measures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Greeting and welcoming each Guest with the proper greeting and using an exit statement when they leave.
  • Ensuring a high standard of Guest satisfaction through prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
  • Maintaining a food service atmosphere consistent with Company Standards for Professionalism, Image, and Total Quality Guest Service.
  • Ensuring proper dress code for self and addressing any employee not in proper dress code.
  • Maintaining a clean and attractive store exterior and interior daily.
  • Completing all cleaning/maintenance tasks assigned by Store Management by the end of the shift.
  • Maintaining and increasing personal knowledge base through approved training.
  • Training and retraining Food Service employees consistent with Par Mar/Brand Goals, Policies, Procedures, and Image.
  • Training and directing employees to meet daily expectations in cash control, cleanliness, organization, food preparation and handling, and inventory control.
  • Complying with, training, and directing all employees to meet daily expectations with state, local, and federal laws and regulations of the governing health department.
  • Setting goals for employees to encourage long-term growth and promote career opportunities.
  • Assisting and encouraging employees in meeting goals for increased store and personal growth.
  • Reviewing employee performance accurately, timely, and objectively.
  • Communicating with Store Management about employees recommended for promotion.
  • Ensuring compliance with all laws, applicable rules, regulations, and necessary controls (alcohol, tobacco, health department, etc.).
  • Securing a food handlers card where applicable.
  • Investigating and resolving food quality and service complaints.
  • Properly placing all waste in the designated area.
  • Inspecting food and food preparation to maintain quality standards, freshness, taste, timely preparation, and sanitation regulations.
  • Ensuring all equipment is cleaned and sanitized at the close of the day.
  • Following all recipe guidelines and portion control at all times.
  • Ensuring food preparation levels are completed for the next shift, properly dated and stored.
  • Following and promoting Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Reporting any Policy discrepancies to Store Management.
  • Enforcing smoking and alcohol policies.
  • Effectively controlling loss prevention by following company policies and procedures.
  • Practicing honesty in the workplace and investigating discrepancies.
  • Completing paperwork accurately, neatly, and timely.
  • Having full knowledge and being accurate and punctual with daily paperwork and bank deposits.
  • Observing loss trends and utilizing reports and video to identify discrepancies.
  • Ensuring accurate handling of company assets, including cash over/shorts, inventory shrink, merchandise handling, store profitability, and minimizing controllable store expenses.
  • Performing cost food inventories and ordering product, or assigning to the Lead Associate.
  • Reviewing weekly SACU and perpetual inventory with management.
  • Holding location inspections within or above standards set by Par Mar Stores.
  • Maintaining stock on product and supplies by keeping inventory control current and planning and placing timely orders.
  • Maintaining recipe standards and portion control according to Brand requirements.
  • Supporting and promoting Par Mar Stores Special Promotions and Events.
  • Promoting good will on behalf of Par Mar Stores by attending community events.
  • Properly receiving all merchandise and accurately completing all invoices.
  • Ensuring merchandise received matches invoices.
  • Ensuring proper vendor procedures are followed at all times.
  • Verifying that merchandise matches invoices.
