About The Position

This position supervises the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and supplies to students, staff, and visitors in an attractive and appetizing manner, adhering to department standards and federal guidelines. The role involves completing and submitting various reports, including register reports, cash deposit/cash-related reports, HAACP information, and temperature and refrigeration logs. Additionally, the Food Service Manager is responsible for training and cross-training staff in kitchen, storeroom, and service procedures, estimating ingredient and supply needs, conducting monthly inventory checks, and verifying and submitting staff time and attendance records.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school (or G.E.D.)
  • 3 years of applicable commercial food service experience.
  • Must have or obtain a Level II Sanitation Certification, CPR Certification, and ServeSafe Certification within 6 months of appointment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to sustain walking and standing on hard, slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach, stoop and/or bend.
  • Must exhibit manual dexterity and move quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States at time of application.
