About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager 2 to lead daily operations for their food team at HMH Old Bridge Medical Center, a 113-bed non-profit acute care hospital in Old Bridge, New Jersey. This role focuses on creating and delivering innovative cafe experiences for patients, families, and staff, evaluating and developing service levels for the Patient Services Program, and overseeing Sodexo’s Patient Dining Program. The manager will collaborate with clinical and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the patient experience, perform tray assessments, manage cash handling, mentor staff, and develop client and customer relationships.

Requirements

Background in food service or culinary management
Proven ability to mentor, train, and coach frontline employees
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrate professional communication skills
Passion for a high level of customer service
Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a self-starter mindset
Minimum 1 year of management experience
High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent

Responsibilities

Create and deliver innovative and enriching cafe experiences for patients, family and staff daily
Evaluate and develop service levels for the overall Patient Services Program targeted to exceed patient and customer satisfaction
Oversee Sodexo’s Patient Dining Program and daily meal rounding inclusive of service recovery
Collaborate with clinical, food service and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the patient experience
Perform tray assessments to ensure food quality and presentation and tray accuracy
Deliver high quality food service
Manage cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies
Mentor, develop, and retain frontline staff
Develop and maintain client and customer relationships
