About The Position

The Food Service Expert supports Target’s Food & Beverage team by delivering a guest-first experience and helping ensure food products are fresh, available, accurately priced, safely handled, and presented according to Target and, where applicable, Pizza Hut standards. The role includes food production and service, replenishment, inventory procedures, cleaning, food safety, and guest assistance. Target provides training to help team members develop relevant food service skills and experience. The work is active and physically demanding, requires flexibility to meet changing business and guest needs, and may involve working in refrigerated or freezer areas, exposure to varying temperatures and humidity, and supporting Drive-Up or carryout. Previous food or grocery experience is preferred but not required.

Requirements

Strong interest in and knowledge of the food service business.

Ability to climb ladders as needed.
Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely and efficiently, including frequently lifting or moving up to 44 pounds without assistance.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times; report for scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer conditions where common allergens may be handled or present.
Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties such as Drive-Up and carryout.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts, which may vary in length.

Responsibilities

Create a friendly, inspiring guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find products or resolve issues, and thanking them at the end of transactions.
Support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
Provide a fresh and abundant shopping experience, prioritizing guest needs over tasks.
Uphold Food & Beverage standards and applicable Pizza Hut brand standards.
Execute food and beverage processes, including deliveries, replenishment, merchandise straightening, in-stock routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing and storing reserve product.
Produce, package, and label items according to production-card specifications and department routines.
Maintain a neat, clean, and inviting dining area throughout the shift, where applicable.
Make salesfloor merchandise display changes as directed and stay aware of current Café and Pizza Hut promotions, where applicable.
Complete and record food-service-space cleaning tasks according to best practices.
Follow perishable inventory procedures and accurately record inventory.
Follow food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperatures of temperature-sensitive food items.
Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales.
Complete applicable Pizza Hut training and certifications related to product quality control.
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and training, and report or correct hazards where possible.
Support guest services such as backup cashiering, Order Pickup, and Drive-Up, while following applicable compliance requirements, including adult beverage laws.
Perform other duties based on business needs.
