About The Position

The Food Service Associate I assembles, serves, and delivers food and supplies to patient care areas while following regulatory food-safety standards. The role also assists with sanitizing areas and cleaning kitchen utensils. This position is with Franciscan Health Crown Point in Crown Point, Indiana.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is preferred.
One year of healthcare or hospitality experience is preferred.
One year of institutional food-service experience is preferred.
One year of customer-service experience is preferred.
ServSafe Food Handler Certification is required while working in Illinois and preferred while working in Indiana.

Responsibilities

Clean, maintain, and assemble equipment, ensuring proper usage.
Follow good handwashing and personal hygiene practices, including wearing clean uniforms, covering hair, and using gloves properly.
Prepare, assemble, and deliver food and supplies on time and according to lists or tallies, as needed.
Accurately record food and refrigeration temperatures, including in kitchens and patient-care units where refrigerators are located.
Serve food at temperatures that meet regulatory standards, in correct portions, and with attractive presentation.
Store equipment and supplies according to standards.
Transport or store food safely, including covering, dating, and labeling it.
Assist with sanitizing areas and cleaning kitchen utensils.
