About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food service duties, including monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and accepting payment for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines, maintains quality control standards, and provides outstanding customer service while communicating effectively with patrons and coworkers. The position may involve operating food-service and related equipment. On-the-job training is provided.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes.
Ability to remain on one's feet for most of the day and walk long distances.
Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated time frame depending on the location.
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in the food industry.
Previous customer service experience.
Experience counting and reconciling money in a retail setting.
Knowledge of food service.
