About The Position

The Food Service Assistant helps create a distraction-free environment for guests and maintains spaces that support ministry and guest experiences. The role assists with preparing and serving meals to campers and guests, helping provide a delicious and sanitary dining experience. Depending on assignment, the assistant may serve as a Cook, Baker, Dishwasher, Host/Hostess, Pantry Assistant, or Commissary Assistant. The position is seasonal and located in Monterey, Massachusetts.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old at the start of camp, or be a high school graduate who is a dependent living in Hume staff housing.
• No previous experience or specific skills are required.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work indoors or outdoors as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
• Must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
• Must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.
• Ability to stand, walk, frequently lift 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Able to live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing and serving meals to campers and guests in an assigned kitchen role.
• Follow safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
• Maintain a positive, cooperative attitude and contribute to a Christ-centered team environment.
• Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.
