About The Position

The Food Service Assistant performs food service duties, including monitoring and recording food temperatures, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, and accepting payment for food and beverages using a computerized register. The role follows Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines, maintains quality control standards, and provides outstanding customer service while communicating effectively with patrons and coworkers. The position may involve operating food-service and other equipment. On-the-job training is provided. ServSafe certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on the hire location.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to perform basic math.
Ability to work independently when necessary.
Ability to be on one's feet for the majority of the day and walk long distances.
ServSafe certification may be required within a designated time frame, depending on location.
Basic Life Support (BLS) may be required depending on location requirements.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in the food industry.
Previous customer service experience.
Experience with retail counting and reconciliation of money.
Knowledge of food service.
