About The Position

The Food Service Aide assumes the responsibility for performing a variety of tasks related to the preparation, assembly, distribution, pick-up, and clean-up of patient's and visitor's meal trays. This role is responsible for serving attractive, well-garnished, and well-organized patient trays with the utmost accuracy and speed. The aide must maintain proper food temperatures consistently and dissemble and clean the tray line.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions both verbally and written.
• Knowledge of and skills to operate kitchen equipment.
• Effective use of cleaning agents.
• Knowledge of emergency procedures, particularly in the event of a fire.
• Knowledge of Health Department Standards required.
• Must have home telephone.
• Must be able to understand and follow instructions.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of proper body mechanics desirable.
• Knowledge of customer relations desirable.
• Previous food service experience helpful.
• Hospital/health care setting preferred.
