About The Position

The Food Runner serves as an essential connection between the culinary and service teams, delivering food accurately, promptly, safely, and according to presentation standards. The role supports Food & Beverage outlets as assigned based on business needs and may assist with other service functions when operationally necessary. The position is at Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico, an oceanfront resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.

Requirements

Ability to learn menus, table numbers, seat positions, and service standards.
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Previous restaurant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain constant communication with culinary and service colleagues.
Verify table number, seat number, menu item, modifications, and accompaniments before leaving the kitchen.
Deliver food promptly to the correct guest and position.
Announce dishes professionally when appropriate.
Ensure required condiments, sauces, utensils, and accompaniments are delivered with each item.
Maintain knowledge of menu ingredients and common allergens sufficient to safely perform the role.
Obtain assistance from an appropriate colleague rather than guessing when asked an allergy or ingredient question.
Inspect plates for obvious presentation or accuracy issues before delivery.
Immediately communicate missing, incorrect, delayed, or compromised items.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of expo and food-running areas.
Assist with table maintenance, clearing, resetting, water service, and other service functions when operationally necessary.
Follow food-safety requirements when transporting and handling food.
Support all designated Food & Beverage outlets as assigned based on business needs.
Perform opening, running, and closing side work.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
