About The Position

The Hostperson is responsible for greeting restaurant guests and helping set a welcoming tone for their visit. The role supports the service team in delivering memorable hospitality and may include food running, table maintenance, and other service functions as needed. The position offers an opportunity to begin or develop a career in restaurants at Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico.

Requirements

Ability to learn menus, table numbers, seat positions, and service standards.
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.

Previous restaurant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain constant communication with culinary and service colleagues.
Verify table number, seat number, menu item, modifications, and accompaniments before leaving the kitchen.
Deliver food promptly to the correct guest and position.
Announce dishes professionally when appropriate.
Ensure required condiments, sauces, utensils, and accompaniments are delivered with each item.
Maintain knowledge of menu ingredients and common allergens sufficient to safely perform the role.
Obtain assistance from an appropriate colleague rather than guessing when asked about an allergy or ingredient.
Inspect plates for obvious presentation or accuracy issues before delivery.
Immediately communicate missing, incorrect, delayed, or compromised items.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of expo and food-running areas.
Assist with table maintenance, clearing, resetting, water service, and other service functions when operationally necessary.
Follow food-safety requirements when transporting and handling food.
Support designated Food & Beverage outlets as assigned based on business needs.
Perform opening, running, and closing side work.
Perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
Greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant and support the service team in delivering hospitality.
