About The Position

This role is responsible for properly, efficiently, and in a timely manner delivering food orders for Barefoot's servers and bartenders. The position involves maintaining the expeditor line, stocking condiments and supplies, running food orders, identifying incorrect or specialty menu items, organizing food trays, communicating with the expeditor, delivering items to the correct tables, relaying guest information to servers, and cleaning the expeditor area. It may also involve assisting with clearing and resetting tables, performing general cleaning tasks, and rolling silverware. The job requires basic food preparation knowledge, organizational skills, English language proficiency for menus and guest communication, ability to learn the MICROS Point of Sale system, ability to work in confined spaces, and the capacity to lift up to 30 pounds. Manual dexterity for garnishes and reaching overhead, memory for menu items, ability to work in high temperatures and direct sunlight, conflict resolution skills, and continuous walking between the restaurant and kitchen are also necessary.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation.
  • Basic organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and speak the English language sufficient to understand menus and special promotions and communicate with guests.
  • Ability to learn and understand the MICROS Point of Sale computer system.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand and work continually in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 5 pounds and a maximum of 30 pounds.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity in the hands to use a knife to make garnishes and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
  • Ability to work effectively in direct sunlight or in kitchen with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to effectively deal with and resolve conflict situations with co-workers or dissatisfied guests.
  • Ability to walk to and from the restaurant to the kitchen on a continual basis.
  • Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Prior basic food knowledge and culinary related skills preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains proper and adequate set up of the expeditor line, including the stocking of all condiments, plastic silverware, and serving baskets based on the projection of business for the day.
  • Switches out the daytime condiments and related items and replaces with the dinner menu items.
  • Runs food orders properly, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Identifies incorrect or specialty menu items.
  • Organizes the tray of the menu items to be delivered to the tables or bar.
  • Maintains constant line of communication with the expeditor.
  • Properly delivers all items to the proper table numbers.
  • Relays information from guests to server when needed.
  • Cleans and maintains the expeditor area including all counters and floor.
  • Assists with clearing and resetting tables.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products, as assigned by supervisor, to adhere to health standards.
  • Rolls silverware and lines baskets for all meal periods throughout the day to maintain an adequate supply.
  • Performs other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills or special guest requests, to ensure total guest satisfaction.
