About The Position

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region is seeking a passionate Food Program Coordinator to join their team. This role is responsible for delivering nutritious meals through their Food Program (CACFP/SFSP) while fostering healthy habits and curiosity about food in youth ages 7-18. This position is more than just a kitchen job; it's an opportunity to impact lives by creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment for youth.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (must be 18+)
  • Basic understanding of kitchen safety, hygiene, and food handling
  • A team-player who can also fly solo when needed
  • Flexibility—some evenings and weekends may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Food safety certification (ServSafe)
  • Kitchen experience
  • Love working with kids

Responsibilities

  • Help prepare, serve, and clean up meals/snacks in line with state regulations
  • Create a welcoming, clean, and safe meal service environment
  • Monitor food safety, allergies, and cross-contact prevention
  • Organize food inventory, deliveries, and stock rotation
  • Collaborate with YMCA, BGC staff, and volunteers during mealtimes
  • Introduce youth to healthy eating habits and fun food exploration
  • Support garden-to-table activities
  • Maintain compliance records and deep-cleaning schedules
