About The Position

The Food Production Worker I requisitions necessary food supplies for various meal productions, coordinating with the storeroom clerk. They inspect and monitor perishable food supplies, reporting usage and menu adjustments to their supervisor. This position is responsible for preparing entrées, vegetables, starch, and soup items for patient room service, cafeteria, catering, events, and the Garden View Grill, ensuring preparation meets recipe and departmental quality standards. The worker identifies and reports production issues, offering suggestions for supply outages, substitutions, and preparation methods. They record food production information on a production sheet and transfer it to the data master schedule. Patient menu items are prepared as ordered, and menu items are supplied for cafeteria meal services. The role also involves attending and participating in departmental meetings, in-services, and Mary Lanning Healthcare’s quality improvement program. Responsibilities

• Requisitions food supplies needed for cooking the varied kinds of meals produced, coordinate with storeroom clerk as needed.
• Inspects and monitors perishable food supply items and keeps supervisor informed of items used and menu adjustments.
• Prepares entrées, vegetables, starch, soup items for patient room service, cafeteria, catering, events, and Garden View Grill.
• Prepares according to recipe and departmental quality standards.
• Identifies and reports production problems and makes suggestions to supervisor regarding supply outage, production substitutions and preparation methods.
• Records food production information on production sheet and transfers to data master schedule.
• Prepares patient menu items as ordered, supplies menu items for cafeteria meal services.
• Attends and participates in departmental meetings / in-services, Mary Lanning Healthcare quality improvement program, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
