About The Position

Shearer’s Foods is hiring a Food Processing Machine Operator to set up and operate industrial food processing equipment. The operator follows recipes and work procedures, monitors and adjusts processing variables, performs product quality tests and data collection, and monitors fryer and oil temperatures to maintain consistent product quality. The role also includes cleaning and sanitizing processing equipment and changing slicing heads every hour to ensure consistent slicing. The posting lists day shift hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and night shift hours of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; the night shift receives a $3 shift differential. The training hourly rate starts at $22.24. The stated pay range is $22.24 per hour to $25.24 per year, as written in the posting.

Requirements

Be able to read, understand, and effectively communicate with team members in the immediate area.
Be able to perform simple math and conversions and use formulas to compute run rates.
Use common-sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
Have the ability to troubleshoot problems by working backward to identify root causes and address issues.
Have basic computer knowledge, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and the skills required to run production.

Nice To Haves

Previous machine operator experience or experience working with machinery is preferred.
Previous food or beverage manufacturing experience is a plus.
