About The Position

The Sanitation Shift Lead will assist the Sanitation Manager plan, organize, execute, train, and monitor plant sanitation crew, processes, and methods and ensure that all GMPs, safety and company policies are enforced. This position is also called upon to perform other duties not specifically outlined in this posting. Reliable and regular transportation and attendance are required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prior experience in food manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge in food sanitation operations, procedures, chemicals and program standards, preferably in a general food or manufacturing industry.
  • Complete understanding of Food Safety Guidelines/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safe practices and procedures
  • Complete understanding of HACCP Plans
  • Understanding of government regulations (FDA, USDA)
  • Understanding of Clean In Place (CIP) and Clean Out Place (COP) systems
  • Familiar with Fundamentals of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
  • Minimum of 1 year related experience
  • A working knowledge of food technology, food science, microbiology or chemistry preferred.
  • Understanding of pathogens and other food contaminants.
  • Understanding of modes of control of various sanitation chemicals and physical cleaning.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Ability to prioritize and manage tasks
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to read measurements
  • Microbial knowledge is recommended
  • Must be able to work in a facility that processes food allergens.
  • Must be willing and able to wear approved PPE as specified by GMP standards.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • multi-lingual Spanish, Burmese, Swahili, Pashto, strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute daily, weekly, and periodic plant wide cleaning and sanitation activity.
  • Assist Sanitation Manager in executing plant master cleaning schedule, by following the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) per USDA regulations and established company procedures.
  • Work with management for constant improvement of sanitation processes.
  • Assist Sanitation Manager to conduct periodic plant inspections and audits, tracking progress of corrective actions.
  • Responsible for reporting any food safety issues to supervision.
  • Must have the ability to work around & clean a variety of ingredients, including allergens.
