About The Position

The Food Prep position prepares and serves quality food and beverages, maintains food preparation areas and display cases, and supports food merchandising, inventory, customer service, and store cleanliness. The role includes checking in and stocking deliveries, verifying invoices, pricing and displaying merchandise, rotating food items, and monitoring product freshness and availability. The position also maintains a safe and sanitary work environment, cleans food service equipment and other store areas, assists with training new associates when necessary, and performs related duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

This is a part-time role with evening availability on weekdays at Store 2743166 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. The hiring range is $14.00 to $14.50. Work is approximately 95% indoors, with some outdoor duties such as cleaning parking lots and gas pumps and taking out garbage. The role involves occasional work in a walk-in cooler or freezer, occasional noise, and working with minimum direction and periodic supervision.

Requirements

• Ability to push or pull with arms using up to 20 pounds of force.
• Ability to reach overhead, bend and twist at the waist, stoop, kneel, squat, push, and pull.
• Ability to communicate orally and operate a cash register and/or computer keyboard.
• Ability to work in cold or warm temperature extremes, including occasional work in a walk-in cooler or freezer and outdoors.
• Ability to tolerate occasional noise.
• May need to climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials or place and remove signs.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in retail sales preferred.
• Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure grocery deliveries are accurate, stocked, attractively displayed, and correctly priced in accordance with company guidelines.
• Complete build-to’s for ordering or purchasing merchandise.
• Check in deliveries, price items, and stock merchandise according to the schematic.
• Verify delivery invoices, discuss discrepancies with the Store Manager, and bring outdated merchandise to the Store Manager for review.
• Assemble, date, and price-mark in-store displays.
• Rotate food items and monitor quality and freshness to protect customers from illness.
• Monitor and maintain food preparation areas and display cases.
• Assist with training new associates when necessary, emphasizing excellent customer service.
• Monitor and organize inventory to reduce out-of-stock items.
• Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and attentive customer service; greet customers and thank them as they leave.
• Resolve or assist in resolving routine customer concerns within established guidelines.
• Prepare and serve quality food and beverages to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Sweep and mop floors; dust or wash windows, counters, displays, store areas, and bathrooms; and dispose of trash, litter, or debris.
• Inspect store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain food service equipment.
• Attend job-related meetings, which may require working irregular hours.
• Foster cooperative intradepartmental workflow and contribute to team efforts.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Report to work on time and follow the dress and appearance code.
• Perform duties with minimal supervision and carry out other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
