About The Position

This position supervises the activities of inmates in the preparation and serving of meals for the population and staff. It involves training inmates in all kitchen policies and procedures, and maintaining a high standard of food safety, sanitation, and quality in a cost-efficient manner.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend policies and procedures, and to monitor and supervise the work of others effectively.
• Must possess knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and cost-efficient practices.
• Ability to train and direct inmates in kitchen operations while maintaining compliance with established guidelines.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in institutional or correctional food service operations.
• Knowledge of inventory control, cost management, and menu planning.
• Certifications in food safety or sanitation, such as ServSafe.
• Strong organizational skills.
