About The Position

The HVAC Installation & Repair Supervisor is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and service of HVAC systems according to building codes and standards. This role involves conducting routine inspections, managing inventory through planning and purchasing, and responding to work requests in a timely manner using a Total Maintenance System (TMS). The supervisor will also oversee inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility's HVAC systems. The position may require responding to emergency callbacks on a rotating basis and assisting in other areas of the Building and Grounds department, such as preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, electronics, or outside maintenance.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance practices for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in web-based HVAC control systems.
  • Knowledge in mini-split system, split systems, and package units.
  • Proven ability in preventive maintenance programs.
  • Broad knowledge across multiple trade disciplines.
