About The Position

Join the City of Hampton’s Summer Lunch Program team and help support children and families throughout the summer. The Food Monitor position is responsible for monitoring meal sites, ensuring compliance with USDA and departmental guidelines, and helping maintain a safe, organized, and positive program environment. The purpose of this position within the organization is to monitor Summer Lunch Program sites to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations established by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Services Department of the City of Hampton.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED
  • Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
  • The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
