The Food Manager I Hourly prepares, assists, or instructs offender/detainee labor in food preparation according to departmental standards, recipes, and instructions, while adhering to facility housekeeping and safety practices. Responsibilities also include checking in deliveries for accuracy and proper temperature, stocking food and supplies promptly, compiling weekly kitchen inventories, maintaining computer and physical inventory records, ordering necessary supplies, and adjusting menus if food costs increase. The role coordinates annual menu reviews with a registered dietitian and obtains menu approval, as well as coordinating annual food health inspections.
