About The Position

Hanover Foods Corporation is seeking 3rd Shift Food Inspectors at its Centre Hall, Pennsylvania location. The role involves learning and performing production/entrée inspection and packaging operations, removing product defects and foreign materials while minimizing waste. The 3rd shift runs from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. and includes an additional $0.75 per hour shift differential. The Food Inspector packages and weighs product, checks packaging and day codes, moves cartons and pallets, reports inspection findings, and maintains clean and hygienic work areas. The position follows food safety, quality, security, and workplace safety policies and procedures. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
Ability to physically lift 50 pounds, if necessary.

Responsibilities

Construct boxes or cartons and place liners inside when required.
Place product into boxes or cartons.
Weigh product before closing and stacking.
Inspect cartons and boxes to ensure they are properly sealed and have the correct day code affixed.
Place boxes and cartons on pallets.
Move boxes and pallets to designated areas when required.
Inspect products and remove defects and foreign materials, reporting specific findings to the Supervisor and/or Lead on duty.
Keep work areas clean in accordance with good housekeeping practices.
Follow applicable food safety, legality, quality, food security, and plant security policies and procedures, including GMPs and HACCP.
Follow common safety practices and procedures, including wearing required protective clothing and equipment.
Adhere to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Lead.
