Help our team lead the charge on coverage of North Texas’ buzzy food scene and cultural events in a market hungry for it. From breaking news to viral trends, you'll set the agenda and shape how our audience learns about the latest food trends and events. With more than 15,000 restaurants, North Texas isn’t short on opportunities to cover food. A great Food intern candidate at The Dallas Morning News cares just as much about the latest restaurant opening as they do the effect of new tariff policies on prices for both small business owners and consumers. This role will also support the News’ coverage of local events — those things that make people’s leisure time worthwhile, from a new exhibit opening to the latest immersive experience blowing up on TikTok. Assignments will likely include a mix of quick-turn breaking news, in-depth features, data-driven enterprise, and listicles, spanning the North Texas dining scene, food business, current affairs and politics impacting the culinary world, and events and things to do around town.
