About The Position

The Food and Transportation Assistant will assist the Indiana Part B Department with transportation for patients of Matthew 25 and with the organization’s food pantry. This position may also assist in completing other projects within the department. Matthew 25 has been recognized as a top workplace 3 years in a row. Our mission is to serve those at risk for, living with, or impacted by HIV or other STIs through comprehensive healthcare, education, and support while fostering community partnerships to combat stigma and improve overall healthcare and quality of life.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit organization or a strong desire to work in service driven environment.

  • Flexibility, as our services are available to a large geographic area in the state of Kentucky, which may require some travel
  • Valid Driver’s License with at least three (3) years driving experience and less than two (2) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background test.
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate in both written and verbal form
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine documentation and correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Intermediate computer skills are essential in use of an electronic medical record.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Must be detail oriented, have ability to multi-task and possess great interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for our patients.
  • Maintain food pantry and patient transportation services.
  • Assist in special projects within the department.
  • Aiding Community Services Coordinator with departmental goals.
