About The Position

Vericast is hiring a Foil Press Operator for its printing team in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The role is responsible for daily operation of a high-speed Gietz foil/embossing press, ensuring the accuracy of foiled material from offset presses, and maintaining a clean work area. The operator performs daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance and may assist with other bindery operations, including cutting and collating. The position works Sunday through Thursday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The hourly pay rate is $19.00–$22.00, depending on experience, plus a $1.75 shift differential and overtime. The work environment is described as temperature controlled, bright, clean, and team based.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand schedules, job tickets, multipart specifications, House letters, press manuals, reports, plant procedures, operations manuals, and TQM materials.
Ability to communicate verbally with coworkers and plant staff and to prepare written notes, activity sheets, and maintenance requests.
Ability to move 60-pound boxes.

Responsibilities

Read and understand schedules, job tickets, and multipart specifications.
Set up foil, heat settings, and product dies for press make-ready.
Inspect foiled sheets, clean dies, adjust heat and pressure, and set register.
Operate the foil press and run paper through the machine.
Move 60-pound boxes to pallets.
Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on equipment, including daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Inventory foil and supplies.
Load and offload the foil press.
Operate the cutter and cut and box stocks according to job specifications.
Assist with other bindery operations, including cutting and collating, as needed.
May assist in training others.
Perform other duties as assigned.
