About The Position

The FN Hospitality Assistant prepares foods for meal service for nursing home residents, including breakfast, lunch, supper, snacks, meats, vegetables, food for special functions, and other items as directed. The role also ensures that deliveries are made and stored properly. The position is listed as 0.6 FTE at LMC Nursing Home.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems independently.
• Knowledge of and ability to follow federal, state, and regulatory standards for sanitation, food preparation, and food handling.
• Knowledge of cooking methods and procedures, safe food-handling techniques, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow directions in written recipes.
• Ability to properly identify patients and residents and maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Food preparation, inventory, and stocking experience in a high-volume setting preferred.
