About The Position

Join Mackenthun’s part-time team and provide a warm, welcoming experience for guests exploring its Floral and Gift selections. The role focuses on customer service, product knowledge, and gift presentation while supporting store events and daily department operations. The schedule is 10–25 hours per week and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The floral department is open 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The role requires travel between the Waconia and Minnetrista store locations.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to work or travel between the Waconia and Minnetrista store locations.
Friendly, helpful, and confident when engaging with guests.
Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure order accuracy.
Able to meet the stated physical demands, including frequent standing and bending and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Prior customer service or retail experience.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and assist them in selecting floral arrangements, plants, and gifts for different occasions.
Recommend products based on customer preferences and the occasion.
Answer phones, take orders, ensure order details are accurate, and fulfill orders in a timely manner.
Handle returns and customer concerns with a service-first approach.
Price products and merchandise the department.
Process and recut flowers, perform quality control, and water plants to maintain freshness and display standards.
Maintain department organization and cleanliness.
Wrap, package, and present floral and gift items attractively for pickup and delivery.
Keep displays of floral gifts, candles, plush items, balloons, and accessories well stocked.
Help prepare floral deliveries.
Collaborate with team members during peak seasons and events.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in work and retail areas.
