About The Position

The Flooring Solutions Technician 1 coordinates with the leadership team to provide excellent customer service and demonstrate proficiency in using, operating, setting up, and repairing company equipment. The role requires professionalism in communication and appearance. The technician cleans equipment, performs preventive maintenance, and makes minor repairs in their area of responsibility to reduce downtime safely and effectively.

The position also involves tracking rental equipment and parts, maintaining service records and company vehicles, coordinating deliveries and service calls, and delivering and installing rented equipment. The technician trains authorized operators or customers in safe equipment use and helps maintain a safe, clean shop and wash bay. Emergency service coverage is required on a rotating schedule, including weekends and evenings.

Requirements

• 1 to 3 years of mechanic experience with IC engines, propane, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Provide mechanic's tools of the trade.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to work independently and remain flexible regarding work assignments.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of safety awareness.
• Working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training.
• Prior floor care equipment experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment check-ins and minor repairs when equipment is returned to the shop.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed.
• Clean, pressure wash, and prepare equipment for repairs; detail equipment for rent-ready status.
• Perform full-service maintenance and diagnose simple mechanical problems.
• Maintain a safe work environment and perform duties in accordance with safety standards.
• Track rental equipment inventory and coordinate deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls with customers.
• Maintain the warehouse area.
• Clean, repair, order, and install parts needed to meet standards; source and manage parts and supplies inventory.
• Complete and maintain equipment service records, including damage repairs, preventive maintenance, and warranty processing.
• Replace decals and clean and detail equipment.
• Operate the company vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver's license and excellent driving record free from points.
• Maintain company vehicle records and perform washing, oil changes, and general safety inspections; report defects or unusual performance to the supervisor.
• Maintain and track company tools and supplies, and bring broken tools to the supervisor for replacement.
• Maintain the wash bay and surrounding area, including preventive maintenance and a safe, clean work environment.
• Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls.
• Complete paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups, and service calls; direct customers to sign required paperwork and track serial numbers.
• Deliver and install rented equipment and train authorized operators or customers in safe equipment use.
• Implement proper and safe procedures.
• Work with managers and equipment rental specialists to maintain accurate records and tracking of in-stock and rented equipment.
• Provide emergency service response on a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and evenings.
