About The Position

The Floor Technician is responsible for floor maintenance and restoration and for operating industrial floor-care equipment. The role involves caring for hard-floor surfaces, carpets, and upholstery using appropriate equipment and procedures. The position is full-time at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a schedule of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on days that may vary. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Requirements

Knowledge of floor-care equipment and techniques.
Knowledge of and ability to follow safety procedures.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a floor-care technician or in a related role.
Prior floor-technician or custodial experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain knowledge of hard-surface floor maintenance principles and use proper procedures for stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing.
Operate various types of industrial floor-care equipment.
Use automated equipment to clean large floor areas.
Use proper procedures and methods for carpet and upholstery care, including shampooing, damp-surface cleaning, extraction, spot cleaning, and vacuuming.
Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor-surface types.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
