About The Position

The Floor Tech performs floor care and specialty cleaning services, including cleaning newly constructed or remodeled structures so they are ready for tenant occupancy. The position involves operating floor-care equipment, handling chemicals and supplies according to manufacturer labels and directions, and completing assigned job-order and work-order paperwork. Heavy lifting is required; other employees will be present to assist with moving furniture and other items safely. Safety-related issues must be reported immediately to a lead person or manager. Other duties related to the Specialty Services Division may be assigned. This is a full-time position in Appleton, Wisconsin, scheduled Monday through Friday from 4:00 or 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The hourly rate is $18.00. The worksite is 3011 East Capitol Drive, Appleton, WI.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid driver's license required, and must pass a driving background check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
Must be able to follow and understand manufacturer labels and directions for chemicals and products used by the Specialty Services Department.
Must be able to perform heavy lifting; other employees will assist with lifting to support safe handling of furniture and other items.

Responsibilities

Strip and refinish hard-surface floors using a low-speed swing machine, wet vacuum, and related equipment and supplies.
Scrub and refinish hard-surface floors using a low-speed swing machine, wet vacuum, and related equipment and supplies.
Scrub concrete floors using a low-speed swing machine, autoscrubber, rider sweeper scrubber, and related equipment and supplies.
Scrub ceramic, marble, terrazzo, and other specialized flooring using a low-speed swing machine, wet vacuum, and related equipment and supplies.
Extract carpets using self-contained carpet extractors, minispotters, and related carpet-care equipment and supplies.
Dry-foam carpets using a Taski Ergo disk dry-foam machine.
Bonnet-clean carpets using a low-speed swing machine, bonnets, and related equipment and supplies.
Clean carpets and upholstered furniture using CFR wet-extraction equipment and supplies.
Clean newly constructed or remodeled structures to prepare them for tenant occupancy.
Follow manufacturer labels and directions for chemicals and products used by the Specialty Services Department.
Complete paperwork related to assigned daily job orders and work orders.
Immediately report safety-related issues to a lead person or manager.
Perform other duties assigned related to the Specialty Services Division.
Assist with heavy lifting and the safe removal or replacement of furniture and other items, with other employees present to assist.
