About The Position

Unique Cleaning Service, Inc. is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee janitorial staff and operations at a federal facility in Appleton, WI. This role involves training, supervising, and evaluating janitorial staff, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, and managing supplies and equipment. The Site Supervisor will also be responsible for safety training, compliance with company and OSHA standards, and customer satisfaction. This is a part-time position with evening hours.

Requirements

Must have a REAL ID for entry into the federal facility.
Ability to provide hands-on support and perform janitorial work when necessary.
Ability to find and define problems, resolve issues, and make recommendations.
Ability to ensure employees comply with company standards related to clocking in and out.
Ability to ensure appropriate chemical labeling, dilution, and storage requirements are met.
Ability to conduct on the job training for staff/employees.
Ability to carry out management responsibilities in accordance with company policies, customer rules, and applicable laws.
Ability to coordinate, assign, and inspect the work of janitorial staff.
Ability to provide guidance and training as needed.
Ability to coordinate staff coverage.
Ability to assess efficiency of cleaning procedures and institute new or revised procedures.
Ability to resolve customer complaints.
Ability to perform routine safety checks and preventative maintenance of janitorial equipment.
Ability to complete safety training for all employees and ensure understanding and sign-off.
Ability to ensure employees have and utilize appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

Participates in the hiring and training of janitorial staff.
Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of janitorial staff.
Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
Train new janitors regarding the proper methods necessary to maintain clean buildings, and provide update and refresher training to all janitors as needed.
Supervise the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment, including preventive maintenance, and training of all janitors in proper safety practices for working with and around cleaning equipment and chemicals in all environments.
Assist in coordination of vendor services such as pest control and window cleaning.
Performs quality control inspections to ensure compliance with scope of work and standards are being met.
Stock and maintain supplies and inventory.
Supervise employees and help delegate operations schedules to ensure proper work area coverage.
Evaluate performance of personnel and inspects assigned areas to ensure proper work performance.
Provide hands-on support and the ability to perform work when necessary, including dust mopping, sweeping, stripping/refinishing, carpet extraction, servicing restrooms, window washing, etc.
Find and define problems, resolve issues, and use these in making appropriate recommendations to management staff, staff, and/or customer contact to exercise continuous quality improvement and to exceed customer expectations.
Ensure employees comply with company standards related to clocking in and out at the start and end of shift; monitor and approve timecards.
Ensures appropriate chemical labeling, dilution, and storage requirements are conducted in accordance with company, customer and OSHA standards.
On the job training for staff/employees to job-specific tasks.
Participates in company and customer training ensuring effective communication and distribution of information to customers and employees.
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, customer’s rules and regulations and applicable laws when needed.
Coordinates, assigns and inspects the work of assigned janitorial staff, including regular review and revisions of checklists.
Provides guidance and training as needed.
Coordinates regular and substitute cleaning team member staff coverage.
Develops and implements custodial cleaning procedures, routines and training as necessary.
Assesses efficiency of cleaning procedures and institutes new or revised procedures to increase efficiency, effectiveness, safety, and best customer service practices.
Resolves customer complaints while ensuring management are kept informed while also attending staff meetings to discuss customer complaints.
Performs routine safety checks and preventative maintenance of janitorial equipment.
Complete weekly and monthly safety training for all employees, ensure employees understand all training and have signed off on the completion of the training.
Ensure all employees have the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and that employees are utilizing the correct PPE in the performance of duties.
Supervises inventory of janitorial supply products.
Other duties as assigned including personnel coverage.
