About The Position

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Floor Maintenance Assistant for Cherry Hospital. This role is responsible for cleaning and maintaining various types of floor surfaces across all buildings on the Cherry Hospital campus and undertaking other specialized projects. Cherry Hospital is a state-of-the-art psychiatric facility serving the eastern counties of North Carolina, dedicated to providing care to those with the greatest need and fewest resources in a healing environment.

Requirements

Six months of education and/or experience in housekeeping procedures including floor maintenance that is directly related to the job and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to follow procedural directions in the use of cleaning products.
Walking, standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of floor care and cleaning.
Skill in the use and care of floor maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain various types of floor surfaces for all buildings on Cherry Hospital campus.
Perform other specialized projects related to floor maintenance.
Clean and maintain tile and Terrazzo floors.
Clean and maintain carpeted surfaces to maintain a high-level of sanitation and an attractive environment.
Operate stripper, buffer, window-washer, and other floor maintenance equipment.
