About The Position

The Floor Maintenance Assistant is assigned to a special unit within the Environmental Services Department called the Mobile Crew. This crew specializes in floor care and reports to the Floor Maintenance Supervisor I. The role involves cleaning and maintaining various types of floor surfaces for all buildings on the Cherry Hospital campus and other specialized projects. The goal is to maintain a high level of sanitation and an attractive environment.

Requirements

  • Six months of education and/or experience in housekeeping procedures including floor maintenance that is directly related to the job and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to follow procedural directions in the use of cleaning products.
  • Walking, standing for long periods of time, bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of floor care and cleaning.
  • Skill in the use and care of floor maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain various types of floor surfaces for all buildings on Cherry Hospital campus and other specialized projects.
  • Clean and maintain tile and Terrazzo floors.
  • Clean and maintain carpeted surfaces.
  • Operate stripper, buffer, window-washer, etc. used by floor maintenance.
