About The Position

Carlson Building Maintenance is hiring a Floor Care Technician to help maintain a large retail facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Blairs Ferry Road. The technician operates professional floor care equipment, maintains hard floors and carpets, performs general cleaning as needed, and helps keep the facility clean, safe, and ready for customers. Hands-on training and support are provided, and prior floor care experience is not required. This is a direct-hire position with opportunities for career growth and advancement.

The position pays $15.00 per hour, with pay issued weekly on Fridays, and averages approximately 35 hours per week. The schedule is 3:30 a.m. to 9:20 a.m., six days per week, with Thursdays off. Weekend availability is required. Benefits are available.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull floor care equipment.
• Strong attendance and reliability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Weekend availability is required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous floor care, janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, commercial cleaning, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate floor scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and other floor care equipment.
• Maintain hard floor surfaces by scrubbing, buffing, stripping, and waxing.
• Vacuum, shampoo, bonnet, and extract carpeted areas.
• Perform restroom and general cleaning duties as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and company standards.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.
• Complete assigned cleaning projects independently and efficiently.
