About The Position

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Floor Care Technician to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of carpets, floors, and upholstery throughout the resort. As the Floor Care Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning carpets and floors in rooms and public areas of the resort, including cleaning carpets, upholstery, floors, and room accessories to remove effects of smoke and water damage such as dirt, soot, stains, mildew, and excess water moisture. You will also wax and strip floors as needed, operate portable commercial carpet, upholstery, and interior cleaning machines, and ensure proper safety signs are set up prior to performing floor cleaning activities. Additionally, you will place fans and dehumidifiers in strategic room locations to remove moisture from carpets, upholstery, and air, verify moisture presence and removal with a moisture sensor, and spray or fog carpets, upholstery, and accessories with fabric conditioners, protectors, deodorizers, and disinfectants. You will inspect completed restoration to ensure conformance to standards and assist in training of fellow employees in the department. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to regularly lift, pull, push and or/move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to lift and move furniture safely.
Ability to stand and move for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Applicants who smoke or use tobacco products will not be considered for positions at Westgate.
Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Cleaning carpets and floors in rooms and public areas of the resort.
