About The Position

Under general supervision, performs a variety of specialized floor care duties in accordance with established procedures and standards. This includes the operation of various floor care equipment and the application of floor finishes and treatments. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The position is part of the Maintenance Department and operates on a 12-month, 8-hour per day schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in floor care or a related maintenance field.
  • Knowledge of various floor types and appropriate cleaning and maintenance methods.
  • Proficiency in operating floor care equipment (buffers, scrubbers, extractors, polishers).
  • Knowledge of floor finishes, sealers, and treatments.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to use PPE.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License may be required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specialized floor care techniques.
  • Certification in floor care or related maintenance fields.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operates various types of floor care equipment, such as buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and polishers.
  • Performs routine and specialized floor maintenance, including stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, and polishing.
  • Applies floor finishes, sealers, and treatments according to manufacturer specifications and best practices.
  • Cleans and maintains all types of floor surfaces, including tile, linoleum, concrete, wood, and carpet.
  • Responds to emergency floor care needs, such as spills and damage.
  • Maintains inventory of floor care supplies and equipment, and requisitions replacements as needed.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of floor care equipment.
  • Assists with other maintenance tasks as directed by supervisor.
  • Ensures work areas are clean, organized, and free of hazards.
