About The Position

The Floor Care Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors throughout the district's facilities. This includes operating specialized equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. The position is a 12-month, 8-hour per day role within the Maintenance Department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in floor care or custodial services.
  • Knowledge of floor care chemicals, equipment, and techniques.
  • Ability to operate and maintain floor care machinery.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specialized floor care equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS).

Responsibilities

  • Perform floor care duties including stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, and extracting carpets.
  • Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and wet/dry vacuums.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other assigned areas.
  • Perform minor repairs to floor surfaces and equipment.
  • Respond to emergency floor care needs.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.
