About The Position

The Floor Care Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of floors throughout the district's facilities. This includes operating specialized equipment, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment. The position is a 12-month, 8-hour per day role within the Maintenance Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in floor care or custodial services.
Knowledge of floor care chemicals, equipment, and techniques.
Ability to operate and maintain floor care machinery.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Valid Nevada Driver's License.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Experience with specialized floor care equipment.
Knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS).

Responsibilities

Perform floor care duties including stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, and extracting carpets.
Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, extractors, and wet/dry vacuums.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other assigned areas.
Perform minor repairs to floor surfaces and equipment.
Respond to emergency floor care needs.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
Assist with other maintenance tasks as needed.
