About The Position

Acelero Learning is hiring a Floater Assistant Teacher to work collaboratively with a Preschool Teacher in the successful operation of a Head Start classroom serving children ages 3–5. The role supports a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement, and self-motivation, promoting development across all domains for children of all abilities. The Floater Assistant Teacher observes children, documents their progress, and helps individualize the curriculum. The role also addresses challenging behaviors by identifying possible causes, using preventive measures, teaching social and communication skills, and partnering with families to support children at home. The position is at Acelero Learning Wisconsin – NGN Center, with a stated start period of Winter 2026. Compensation is $18.78 per hour.

Requirements

Great communication and written skills.
A passion for working with children.
CDA credentials, or willingness to enroll and complete them within two years; or an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field; or enrollment in a program to obtain such a degree.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with the Preschool Teacher to support the successful operation of a Head Start classroom serving children ages 3–5.
Maintain a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
Promote development in all domains for children of all abilities.
Address challenging behaviors by observing to determine possible causes, implementing preventive measures, and teaching children new social and communication skills.
Partner with families to support children at home.
Use observations and anecdotal notes to document children’s progress and individualize the curriculum.
