About The Position

Acelero Learning is hiring a Floater Assistant Teacher to support early childhood education and help create positive outcomes for children and families. The role works collaboratively with the Preschool Teacher to support the successful operation of a Head Start classroom serving children ages 3–5. The position is based at Acelero Learning Wisconsin’s Grand Ave Center and is listed for Winter 2026, with compensation of $18.78 per hour plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Passion for working with children.
• CDA credentials, willingness to enroll and complete CDA credentials within two years, an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in any field, or enrollment in a program to obtain such a degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a child-centered curriculum and learning environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation, supporting development across all domains for children of all abilities.
• Address challenging behaviors by observing to determine possible causes, implementing preventive measures, teaching new social and communication skills, and partnering with families to support the child at home.
• Use child observations and anecdotal notes to document progress and individualize the curriculum.
• Collaborate with the Preschool Teacher to support successful operation of a Head Start classroom.
