About The Position

Under the supervisor, the ideal incumbent will perform duties associated with providing emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Company policies. This role is located at 1065 Bucks Lake Road, Quincy, CA 95971, and you may be scheduled to work in either Lassen or Plumas County. Compensation for this Per Diem, non-benefited position ranges from $45.82–$66.89 per hour, with starting pay determined by clinical pay scales that recognize up to 30 years of relevant experience. Eligible employees may also receive shift differential and holiday pay.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years full-time critical care and / or emergency nursing experience.
  • Must possess basic computer knowledge.
  • Maintain current California RN licensure.
  • Maintain the required annual continuing medical education credits as set forth by the California Board of Nursing.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Nevada R and EMS-RN licensure within two (2) months of hire
  • ACLS certification.
  • BCLS certification.
  • PALS certification.
  • Advanced trauma course (ITLS, PHTLS, or TPATC, along with SREMS advanced skills training within two (2) months of hire).
  • NRP certification within six (6) months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in flight medicine, EMS and public education (field or classroom based)
  • Hazardous Materials R & I (after hire).
  • CFRN certification within eighteen (18) months of hire.
  • Other certifications as required.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to an emergency efficiently and promptly.
  • Administering basic, advanced and critical care life support to patients at the scene or transferring facility, en route to the receiving hospital, and in a pre-hospital setting, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards, and in accordance with Company policies and guidelines.
  • Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed.
  • Effectively communicating with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center.
  • Maintaining order at scenes and requesting facilities.
