About The Position

Ensure aircraft airworthiness through the inspection and repair of all aircraft systems. This role involves developing skills to independently operate, inspect, repair, and replace aircraft system components. The mechanic will learn to evaluate and troubleshoot flight control rigging, aircraft structures, fuel, brake, environmental, and electrical systems after every flight. They will also examine engine and propeller systems for normal operation, identify and fix malfunctions through engine runs, and replace or repair faulty components. Additionally, the role includes inspecting engine parts for defects, servicing aircraft systems, and working with the Quality Department to certify aircraft readiness for the Certificate of Airworthiness, adhering to a manufacturing schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-12 months experience in manufacturing or mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints and production illustrations, and other specifications to determine the identify, location and relationship of aircraft parts.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to effectively manage stress, including competing work demands and multiple projects at the same time.
  • Solid knowledge of hand & power tools
  • Able to complete work on schedule.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willing to learn new skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree in Aircraft Maintenance Technology or equivalent experience preferred
  • Airframe & Powerplant License strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently operate, inspect, repair and replace aircraft system components.
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot flight control rigging, aircraft structures, fuel, brake, environmental and electrical systems after every flight.
  • Examine engine and propeller systems for normal operation and make adjustments as required.
  • Identify source of malfunction by conducting engine runs to locate and fix issues.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as alternators, magnetos, propeller, ignition system, fuel system, etc.
  • Inspect engine parts for improper wear/warping or other defects, servicing the aircraft systems as required.
  • Work with the Quality Department to certify the aircraft is prepared for Certificate of Airworthiness.
  • Work to a manufacturing schedule.
