About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Flight Operations Mechanic (FOM) to join the Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) in Berkeley, MO. The selected candidate must be able to work occasional Saturdays and be able to deploy with the aircraft for one to two week deployments multiple times per year. The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned. This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement. New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days. Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period. Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process. Requirements

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings
  • 5+ years of experience interpreting FAA Airworthiness Directives and Federal Aviation Regulations

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • 5+ years of experience do you have with large aircraft and/or business aviation aircraft experience
  • 10+ years of avionics troubleshooting experience
  • Flight line experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, inspections, and other tasks required to operate a 757 aircraft
  • Perform preflight, transit check and post-flight inspections
  • Tow, marshal, launch, and recover the aircraft
  • Inspect, perform operational checks, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify avionics systems
  • Inspect, perform operational checks, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical and electronic systems
  • Inspect, perform operational checks, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify hydraulic systems
  • Inspect, perform operational checks, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and modify mechanical systems
  • Install, repair and adjust power plants, auxiliary power units, and aircraft engines
  • Remove and install components on all aircraft systems in accordance with the Aircraft Maintenance Manual
  • Complete aircraft modifications in accordance with released engineering
  • Splice, route, clamp, solder, and string tie wires or wire bundles
  • Install adjust, repair and replace structural parts and assemblies
  • Operate forklifts, tugs, etc. to move support equipment as required to support testing
  • Operate ground support equipment such as power carts, ac carts, liquid cooling carts, etc.
  • Maintain aircraft historical records
