About The Position
iFLY Ridgedale is hiring Flight Instructors to guide customers through indoor skydiving and deliver safe, engaging flight experiences. Instructors teach and coach participants of all skill levels in body positioning, flight techniques, control, and safety protocols, while helping create a fun, supportive environment. Onboarding includes a hands-on Flight Instructor Training Program lasting approximately four to five months. During training, iFLY guarantees a minimum hourly rate of $20.00. Before training begins, candidates must pass a role-related Post Offer Employment Test (POET) that assesses physical abilities by simulating typical instructor movements and activities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be in great physical condition and able to meet the physical demands of the role for extended periods.
- Must pass the role-related Post Offer Employment Test before beginning training.
- Must be flexible to work weekends and holidays.
- Interest or background in coaching, teaching, or facilitating activity-based or entertainment-oriented roles.
- High energy, a positive attitude, and passion for working with people.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Commitment to continuous improvement through training, learning, and feedback.
- Safety-focused.
- Ability to work well within a team and maintain positive relationships.
Responsibilities
- Teach indoor skydiving maneuvers, body positioning, safety protocols, and control techniques.
- Engage participants with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a passion for flight.
- Enforce safety standards and help maintain safe, smooth operations.
- Conduct pre-flight safety instructions and explain flight techniques, answer questions, and help calm participants.
- Provide constructive post-flight feedback to build participants’ confidence and skills and encourage new flyers.
- Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to support an effective, cohesive team.
- Participate in ongoing training and use feedback to improve instructional skills and the customer experience.
- Promote add-on options, including additional flight time, high flights, return visits, and media packages.
