About The Position

The Flexographic Press Helper assists with gathering, organizing, and preparing materials for the flexographic printing process. The role helps ensure that inks, substrates, plates, and packaging materials are accurately collected and staged to support efficient production. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment. The position supports kit preparation, inventory management, material quality checks, production staging, safety practices, and housekeeping. The helper works with presspersons, press operators, supervisors, and the production team to make sure materials meet job specifications and are ready when needed.

Responsibilities

Gather and organize inks, substrates, plates, and other components for job orders.
Assist with preparing kits according to job specifications; label and stage components and confirm they are ready for production.
Track and restock materials as directed by the supervisor; organize inventory and report low stock or damaged items.
Assist the pressperson in inspecting materials for visible defects or inconsistencies before kitting.
Verify that collected materials meet the color, quantity, and type specified in job orders, and communicate material issues to the pressperson or supervisor.
Stage and handle materials to minimize production delays, support transitions between shifts, and respond to material needs during production.
Follow safety protocols when handling inks, solvents, and other materials, use required PPE, and comply with hazardous-material storage and handling regulations.
Participate in safety meetings and adhere to company safety policies.
Keep kitting and staging areas clean, organized, and free from clutter; dispose of waste according to safety and environmental guidelines.
Perform light cleaning or maintenance of kitting equipment as needed.
