About The Position

The Press Operator produces printed objects and materials using assigned printing machinery. The role prepares Flexo presses with materials and tooling to support efficient workflow, operates presses, completes print jobs efficiently, and assists with quality control in the pressroom. The operator may also perform other activities as directed by a supervisor, including running machines or assisting with maintenance needs. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate various printing machines.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Mark Andy printing equipment is required.
• Physically able to operate printing machines.
• Able to bend, twist, and kneel.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the narrow-web printing industry is preferred.
• Vocational or technical school training is preferred.
• Previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of printing machines.
• Review client requests to understand the scope and parameters of print jobs.
• Determine quantities required for print jobs.
• Align and configure machinery.
• Inspect random production samples to evaluate print quality.
• Troubleshoot printing-machine issues and make basic repairs.
• Perform routine maintenance on printing machines.
• Draft and submit reports of daily production totals.
• Maintain a clean area around printing machinery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
