About The Position

Flexible Field & Network Technicians implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices, including access points, routers, switches, POS systems, printers, and modems. They set up and troubleshoot connections in different environments, connect devices using physical cables or wireless frequencies, and create adequate signal strength throughout client locations. Travel is required and paid. Training is paid and provided. The role may offer flexibility for freelancers, small business owners, and technology gig workers with weekday availability, subject to coordinating around their other work.

Requirements

• Be over the age of 18.
• Have a current driver's license, insurance, and a vehicle.
• Have previous IT or related technical technician experience.
• Have technical aptitude and experience with cabling runs, management, testing, termination, and network provisioning.
• Have excellent communication skills via phone, text, and email.
• Have a smartphone mobile device.
• Have flexible availability.
• Be able to lift 60 pounds or more on occasion and climb up and down ladders.
• Demonstrate strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, knowledge of networking technologies, effective communication and teamwork, and aptitude for customer support.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, upgrade, and repair networks and networked devices.
• Set up and troubleshoot wired and wireless connections in varied environments.
• Run, manage, test, and terminate cabling and provision networks.
• Test network and Wi-Fi signals, including heat mapping.
• Install and troubleshoot access points, routers, and switches.
• Travel to work in various markets.
• Use hand tools and perform physical tasks such as lifting and climbing ladders.
