About The Position

BCI is seeking a Flex Operator for chemical blending work in an industrial manufacturing and warehouse environment. The role combines production and warehouse duties with work in one or more specialty fields, depending on the employee’s aptitude and company needs. Daily activities are directed by a manager, supervisor, or team lead and may include hands-on, information-related, and other tasks. The ability to expand contributions by mastering skills and learning new information is important for growth at BCI. In production, the operator follows batch tickets, prepares and organizes raw materials, measures and blends wet and dry chemicals, and follows safety and personal protective equipment requirements. Warehouse work includes handling and tracking materials and inventory, loading and unloading trailers, and maintaining clean, organized work areas. Possible specialty assignments include facilities and process maintenance; backup transportation driving with a Class A or B CDL; process water and solid waste operations; environmental, health, safety, and sustainability; inventory management; and quality testing or solution preparation. The position primarily operates in manufacturing and warehouse locations. Work areas are primarily indoors, may be noisy, and have limited climate controls. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting, and may require occasional travel between BCI locations. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Able to read, understand, follow, and write technical information on batch tickets and other records.
Able to become forklift certified and safely operate a forklift; certification and experience in a chemical manufacturing facility are preferred.
Able to learn and safely use personal protective equipment; familiarity with chemical manufacturing safety and PPE is preferred.
Able and willing to become certified to wear a respirator and wear one as needed, typically infrequently; existing certification is preferred.
Able to safely and consistently lift and move 50 or more pounds.
Able to work overtime as needed, typically less than two hours per day.
Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.
Able to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting; able to move items over 50 pounds independently and occasionally handle heavier loads with assistance or equipment.

Nice To Haves

Forklift certification and experience safely operating a forklift in a chemical manufacturing facility.
Familiarity with chemical manufacturing safety and personal protective equipment.
Certification to wear a respirator.
Two to five years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, shipping, or inventory management.

Responsibilities

Read batch tickets and follow instructions, identifying material and equipment needs.
Organize and kit raw materials.
Accurately measure, weigh, dispense, and blend wet and dry chemicals.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment and perform work safely, neatly, and in an orderly manner.
Locate and transport materials to and from the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, manual handling, or other material-handling equipment.
Maintain organization and cleanliness in warehouse and production areas.
Load and unload trailers while considering product classification and weight distribution.
Independently log, scan, and track inventory by product and location.
Work in one or more specialty areas as assigned, potentially including facilities and process maintenance, backup transportation driving, process water and solid waste operations, environmental health and safety, sustainability, inventory management, quality testing, or solution preparation.
Perform other job-related duties and follow instructions as assigned.
